As a former human resources professional, Mark understands firsthand the diverse challenges those in human resources face on a daily basis. He combines over 20 years of practicing employment law along with his experience in human resources to come up with practical solutions and strategies for resolving employment related issues that meet his clients’ needs and provide legal protection.

Mark is the Chair of Beckman Lawson’s Labor and Employment Practice Group.  Mark’s practice includes counseling and defending employers in discrimination matters, leave issues, wage and hour issues, retaliation, non-compete/non-solicitation issues, affirmative action plans, I-9 compliance, worker’s compensation and unemployment. Mark represents clients in state and federal court and before various administrative agencies including the EEOC, DOL, Office of Federal Contract Compliance, U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, Indiana Worker’s Compensation Board and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Mark’s practice also includes assisting businesses and individuals navigate the complexities of immigration law. Mark helps businesses ensure that they have a legal workforce and obtaining visas for their foreign national workforce. Mark helps individuals obtain K-1 visas for fiancés, permanent resident and Citizenship status for spouses and close relatives.

Mark and his wife Betsy have been married over 30 years. They have two daughters, one who graduated from Purdue University and another who attends Indiana University. Mark lives in a house truly divided!
